Katie Clendaniel Invites Senator Johnny Mautz to Public Debate

Proposes debate before early voting begins on October 22

Statement from Katie Clendaniel, Democratic nominee for Maryland State Senate District 37:

“I am formally inviting Senator Johnny Mautz to participate in a public debate with me ahead of the November election for Maryland Senate District 37.

“Families across Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot, and Wicomico counties are facing rising electric bills and grocery costs, while worrying about the future of our schools and downtowns. They deserve to hear directly from both of us about how we would address these issues in Annapolis.

“I propose that we hold this debate before early voting begins on October 22. My campaign is ready to begin coordinating immediately and will work with Senator Mautz’s campaign to agree on a date, location, moderator, and format. I am open to working with a local news organization, civic organization, or other nonpartisan community group to host the event.

“I hope Senator Mautz will accept this invitation. I look forward to hearing from him.”
